Weekly Roundup # 2

Colds colds go away, come back…NEVER!

Stay away people, the Niblett house is contagious.

I’m writing this from my sofa sick bay.

That said, still managed to have a semi-jolly week – or enough to slap a little weekly round-up together.

On Tuesday the mini one went down with baby man flu, perfecting a very convincing, but fake, cough (..or so I thought).  Whilst I started dosing out the baby Nurofen I had little sympathy having had both a blood test and a filling in one 12 hour period.

Wednesday brought SNOW. At 7am we were all wrapped up heading to the park for a play. We’re uber lucky to live on the doorstep of one the nicest parks in the area. Of course, it was Noah’s first ever snow day so we weren’t going to miss out.

That afternoon we snuck off to see Mary Poppins at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford. It was a STUNNING performance, despite being pretty far removed from the original film. 100% recommended.

Thursday was playgroup day, as per usual, but also when Noah started going more and more down hill.

At lunch he started to get sallow eyes with a little rash and by 3pm he was snotty and limp with a rash all over his face and tummy.

There’s no way to describe that gut wrenching feeling you get when you think you’re baby is seriously ill so I was quick sharp to the surgery. Of course, the stupid receptionist had ‘accidentally’ booked my emergency appointment for three days time so we were left waiting for 45 minutes.

Luckily, it turns out he just has a nasty chest infection but I’m still a little nervous over it all.

So, we’ve been a little house bound as a result and entertaining a 7 month old in the house is no easy task. Yesterday I turned to food as a distraction and make some amazing Harry Potter Pasties and we finished off the day with an adult’s only steak supper with all the trimmings! Bliss!

Enjoying my Harry Potter Pasties!

Noah’s also mastered standing (well, leaning!) which has meant all round baby proofing and lots of exaggerated applause!

Blog wise, it’s been a great week. I’ve managed to bring in 150 new followers on my Twitter Page and my Baby Weaning Guest Post was a hit! I kicked off the first in my series of #Friday5Day, learning how to Make Money Online with Emma Drew and signed up a host of new bloggers for upcoming interviews! My Klout score has rocketed as have my web stats. All in the right direction!

In other news, I’ve been trying to avoid commenting on the US Election as I feel that publicly passing thought on politics when I understand very little of the detail is insulting to those that do. I’ve also decided to go back to work a couple of weeks early as money is quickly disappearing. Damn you maternity pay!

Next week brings with it lots of holiday prep (we’re going to Harry Potter World and Berlin in the next month), getting organised for Christmas and a socialite weekend for me! Hurrah! On the blog I’ll be discussing why I’m proud to be a working mum, posting the recipe for my Harry Potter pasties, pulling together some tips on how to keep baby safe this winter and closing the week with a special #Friday5Day on Shared Parental Leave from a papa perspective.

Have a lovely week readers!
